Unlocking success with a friction free onboarding redesign

About Me
I’m a UX/UIDesigner with experience spanning various industries, including ed-tech, e-commerce, hospitality, startups, and non-profits. My overarching goal is to make a meaningful impact on society, be it through social or environmental initiatives.
Most recently I've been the sole UX Designer at an ed-tech scale-up with the vision to create a kinder, smarter world. Projects have included designing and launching a new SVOD web app, redesigning the mobile app onboarding process, and creating and launching engaging quest features to boost user interaction. In this solo role, I also lead UX research and copywriting while collaborating closely with all departments.
Prior to this, I worked with non-profits, assisting ex-offenders and those experiencing homelessness in reentering the workforce.
My background in business development, account management, and marketing helps me bridge the gap between user needs and business goals. This ensures a user-friendly experience that drives business success. Alongside my professional background, my master's degree in Chemistry equips me with robust analytical and problem-solving skills that I use to tackle intricate UX challenges.

What Others Say
Sarah understands her role beyond the traditional job description of a UX Designer and thinks product from start to finish and back. Carefully weaving between requirements and restrictions to think up features and products in an iterative way, so team and business success can grow from sprint to sprint.
As a Product Director, I couldn’t have wished for a better sidekick. Sarah is reliable, self-driven, precise and brings an inspiring appetite for innovation and solving problems. Her analytical skills and inquisitive approach ensure that her design decisions are well founded and backed by literature and withstand the gusts of management intuition and logical fallacies.
She is highly respected by all stakeholders and acts as a true connector between them, driving team communication and sourcing and sharing knowledge.
Merlin Bergmann
Product Director, Macademia
Sarah excels at taking complex requirements and distilling them down into something that is easy to follow, with just the right amount of information presented.
As a software developer during the planning stage there was a number of times I was about to create user flows for specific use cases only to find Sarah had already thought it through and could provide me exactly what I needed.
Sarah always arranged meetings at the start of a project to get the engineers input about the feasibility of new features, keeping everyone on the same page and making sure the designers always provided something that was useful and within the scope of the project, avoiding any potential waste of time and resources.

Sarah's professional expertise has expanded our knowledge horizon by introducing us to Jira, Cardsort, and the user experience research process as a whole. Thanks to her analytical skills, we now know who our user audience is and how we need to provide exceptional web site navigation. Despite our 8-hour time zone difference (Seattle, London), Sarah worked long, late hours to meet with our non-profit organisation's members, conducting research interviews late in the evening and on weekends, above and beyond our expectations.
Despite signing on for a weekend 'Hackathon' on DemocracyLab.org, Sarah stayed on to see it through to our web site redesign's first release. We thoroughly enjoyed working with her and would most certainly work with her in the future should the opportunity arise.
